I'll give them a few tips. #1: Lose the attitude or the pros will never want you around.
I get annoyed. They've got a lot to learn before I'll take them seriously.
Secretly, I'd be thrilled. Somebody's worse at this than I am!

Can you imagine your life without [THING]?

No. I can't think of one reason why I'd ever give it up.
Yeah, but that life kinda sucks compared to this one.
Of course. I have lots of other stuff going on.

What happens if someone makes fun of [THING] in front of you?

I don't take it personally.
I ask why they're so down on [THING].
I get defensive. I can't just ignore it.
